42. Donate Admission Fees From An Event
A church youth group in Michigan rented the high school auditorium and hired several rock groups to play. Since all proceeds would go to support the homeless, the Board of Education reduced the rental fee and the groups cut their charge by 50 percent.
The result: nearly a thousand people showed up and the teenagers donated $3,700 after expenses. That paid for two transitional apartments for the homeless for five months.
