39. Teach Their Friends
An eight-year old girl was asked by her teacher to describe what it "might feel like to be homeless." Here is what she wrote:
"Well, time to go begging. Usually no one gives me anything, but it's worth a try anyway. Yesterday I didn't get anything because I was in a bad mood, yelling out all these bad words for no reason. See, no one understands that when you're homeless you have so many trapped emotions inside that you just explode."
Every school should dedicate a unit of curriculum to studying the homeless and developing a project on their behalf.
