33. Educate Your Children About The Homeless
If we hope to aid the homeless, we must educate as many others about the
situation as we can. And what better place to start than in our own home, with
our own children?
Tell your children what you have learned about and help them to see the
homeless as people. If you do volunteer work, take your sons and daughters along
so they can meet with homeless people and see what can be done to help them.
With older children, volunteer as a family in a soup kithen or shelter. Suggest
that they sort through the toys, books, andclothes they no longer use and donate
them to shelters or organizations that assist the poor.
